Requiem for a Soldier.
Some songs are born from a single moment of inspiration. Others emerge from a lifetime of experiences, quietly gathering meaning until they demand to be heard. For Natalja, "Requiem for a Soldier" falls firmly in the latter category – a debut solo release that crystallized from decades of lived history, gratitude, and transformation.
Heart Meets Mastery.
Through Saint-Saëns' "Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix," (My heart opens to your voice) Natalja reveals the heart of her artistry. While history knows this as Delilah's seduction of Samson, in Natalja's hands it becomes something far more personal – a meditation on love's transformative power. Her masterful interpretation of this challenging French Romantic aria shows an artist who understands that true virtuosity lies in blending technical excellence with emotional truth.
Latvian-born mezzo-soprano Natalja Sticco brings commanding stage presence and remarkable versatility to both classical and contemporary repertoire.
Following distinguished tenure as a Young Artist and performing member of the Latvian National Opera & Ballet, where she appeared in over 200 productions and shared stages with luminaries like Jonas Kaufman and Elena Obraztsova, Sticco has established herself as one of New England's most versatile classical artists.
Her rich, powerful voice excels in signature mezzo-soprano roles including Carmen, Azucena, and Eboli. The 2025/26 season brings exciting premieres and leading roles. A champion of classical crossover, Natalja breaks new ground through innovative collaborations, her versatility extends to film, providing vocal effects for independent productions, and pioneering virtual reality concerts..
Natalja’s journey from Soviet-era Latvia to American stages inspired her 2020 release "Requiem for a Soldier" (Theme from HBO's Band of Brothers), with proceeds supporting military families. This project reflects her commitment to using classical artistry for contemporary impact.
She holds a Bachelor's in Vocal Performance from the prestigious Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, complemented by both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Information Technology from Riga Technical University. Her training includes studies under Paolo de Napoli, Hanneke De Wit, and Diana Soviero.
Fluent in Russian, Latvian, English, Italian, and conversational in German and French, Natalja brings authentic interpretation to a vast repertoire. Her masterful technique and dramatic intensity make her equally compelling in grand opera, intimate sacred music, and contemporary fusion projects.
